Pegasus' 1st Place Trophy ~ Battle of the Bands Competition at the St. Albans Town Fair ~ July 1969

Re Trophy: That is indeed the First Place Trophy we won at the St. Albans Town Fair Battle Of The Bands, in the summer of 1969. That opened many doors for us, especially the Hullabaloo Club which advertised us as the winners on their sign board. Fred still has it. I think it was only the third time we had played in public, and, in all modesty, we just blew away the other bands. We played I Got A Line On You, Tales Of Brave Ulysses, I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know, and a medley of Rock Me and Let The Sunshine In, and ended with a short version of the Hungarian Sabre Dance. Big time show business! ~Alan Burge

I think it felt like winning a Hiesmann Trophy that night.  Or maybe a Super Bowl Trophy.  Or the Stanley Cup.  The other bands were good, but not nearly good enough.  About all I can remember from that night was that the adrenalin was flowing with a 600 hp pump behind it.  That trophy looked to be about ten feet tall when I first saw it. ~Nolan Evans
